Obraz jsem před lety začal malovat jako součást cyklu Pokušení na poušti. Původní myšlenka byla však ještě starší: symfonická báseň Vítězslava Nováka O věčné touze začíná programovou větou – „ …moře bylo průzračné jako vzduch, kterým jsem plul…“

K představě volného pohybu nad klidnou hladinou moře se permanentně po delších přestávkách vracím. Dovoluje totiž kombinovat průhledy, malovat zároveň pohledy z různých směrů, vnímat vnitřním zrakem reflexy světel jakoby splývající za horizont času. Přednost malby je právě v ambivalenci významů a volného přesunu časových horizontů – proč je nepoužít?

This painting I started years ago as part of the large cycle of Temptation in the desert. The original idea was not yet over: The program of the symphonic poem by Vitezslav Novak / About eternal desire / begins with this sentence: /... the sea was clear as air, which I sailed ..."

The idea of ​​peaceful sea level returns to me permanently again and again after long breaks. It allows combining painting views from outsights and insights, simultaneously from different directions, the inner eye perceives light reflexes like flowing behind of horizont of time. Preference of painting is currently in the ambivalence of meaning and freedom of movement time horizons - why not to use them?
