Znepokojující ozvěny / Worrying echoes

Kresbu jsem použil na obálku prvního katalogu Bolest bytí – byl to výkřik k době, která nechtěla slyšet hlas individuálního jednotlivce – z odstupem let vidím, že by bylo opět třeba podobného zvolání. S přítelem slovenským skladatelem Romanem Bergerem jsme zajedno, že mezi uměním a dobovou situací okolní společnosti je vždy rozpor. Vždy jsou zde totiž lidé, kteří zneužívají umění k mocenským účelům, vždy je tu establishment, který nechce slyšet pravdu umění…

I used this drawing on the cover of my first catalog with title: Pain of Being - it was the cry to the epoch, who did not want to hear the voice of an individual man - from a distance of years I now see that it would be necessary again to make similar exclamation. I agree with our friend Slovak composer Roman Berger that between art and contemporary situation of the surrounding society is always a contradiction. Indeed, there are always people who abuse the art for power; there is always the establishment that does not want to hear the truth of art...
