Odila 1977

V tu dobu jsme si se Zdenkou četli nenápadný francouzský příběh Odily – mladé dívky, vozíčkářky – v interpretaci dvou Kamilů: náš přední básník Kamil Bednář a Kamil Lhoták v úloze pohotového ilustrátora. Součinnost básníka s malířem působí do té míry sugestivně, že je těžké určit kdo z nich je tím „tahounem“díla. Kouzlo obojího ovlivnilo mé vnímání poezie a tak trochu pomohlo „zhmotnit“ mé sny, které vyjadřuji v řadách, vždy ve větším počtu / počet ilustrací v této malinkaté knížečce je 131 na 145 stranách /

Udělat třeba stovku obrazů najednou jako sérii je jedním z mých zatím neuskutečněných snů… Hranice mezi ilustrací a obrazem u Kamila Lhotáka je – jak známo – velmi prostupná, a to oběma směry: v obrazech nás vede s veristickou důsledností od jednoho detailu k druhému – až zjistíme, že jsme se ocitli v rovině symbolu… laskavý čtenář teď určitě uhodl koho jsem právě citoval a jistě mně odpustí, protože cítí, co jsem tím chtěl říci…
