V posledních letech vzrostl zájem o osobnost dirigenta Karla Ančerla (1908-1973). Karel Ančerl se narodil se v jihočeských Tučapech do rodiny židovského obchodníka s lihovinami. V letošním roce si připomínáme 80 let od tragických událostí v roce 1944. Jako Žid byl s celou rodinou transportován v roce 1942 do Terezína, kde založil smyčcový orchestr. V říjnu 1944 byla většina členů orchestru včetně jeho rodiny zavražděna nacisty v plynových komorách v Osvětimi a on jediný z celé rodiny hrůzy holokaustu přežil. Méně známý je fakt, že v meziválečném období působil také jako skladatel. Kromě dirigování vystudoval na pražské konzervatoři skladbu u Jaroslava Křičky a Aloise Háby. Český rozhlas realizoval nahrávky a notová vydání z rukopisů nedávno objevených Ančerlových vlastních skladeb, které si pomalu hledají cestu na koncertní podia. Hlavním tématem našeho pořadu je uvedení do Ančerlovy skladatelské tvorby. Zazní ukázky jeho čtvrttónových skladeb i skladeb v „normálním“ ladění a notaci. Pořad s ukázkami z archivních filmových i hudebních materiálů a korespondence připravili (hudebník a producent) Ivan Bierhanzl a (dirigentova vnučka) Maximiliane Ančerlová.

In recent years, interest in the personality of the conductor Karel Ančerlo (1908-1973) has grown. Karel Ančerl was born in Tučape in South Bohemia into the family of a Jewish liquor merchant. This year we commemorate 80 years since the tragic events of 1944. As a Jew, he and his entire family were transported to Terezín in 1942, where he founded a string orchestra. In October 1944, most of the members of the orchestra, including his family, were murdered by the Nazis in the gas chambers in Auschwitz, and he was the only one from the whole family to survive the horror of the Holocaust. Less well known is the fact that he also worked as a composer in the interwar period. In addition to conducting, he studied composition at the Prague Conservatory with Jaroslav Křička and Alois Hába. Český Rozhlas made recordings and sheet music editions of recently discovered manuscripts of Ančerl's own compositions, which are slowly finding their way to concert stages. The main topic of our program is an introduction to Ančerl's compositional work. Samples of his quarter-tone compositions as well as compositions in "normal" tuning and notation will be heard.
